Keyword Suggestion Tools

Our next step after you choose your niche is to find keywords for the niche that you have chosen.  So lets keep this easy for everyone to understand…. keywords are tags that helps other people and the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. find your content.

You will notice that in the Web 2.0 world that we live in today, almost every site that you contribute content to, allows you to enter keywords or Tags to help facilitate people searching.  Whether it’s the Photo site Flickr, Myspace, Facebook, or Squidoo, you will find a place to enter keywords or Tags.

Now for how to find keywords for your niche.  In this example I am going to use the Niche Bratz Dolls, that we found on Google trends in the last post entitled “A journey begins with a single step“.  So before we start our keyword search, I want to give you some good Keyword Suggestion Tools to use.  There are some Free ones out there and there are some paid ones.  First I will give you some Free ones!

Free Keyword search

  • Niche Bot Classic - lists alternative keyword suggestions, but it also breaks things down by major search engines and keyword phrases.  Downside is you have to enter a captcha code for each new search unless you register for free.
  • Wordtracker Keyword Suggestion Tools - This tool is basic and lists the top 100 keywords for your search term, but if you are going after the low hanging fruit keywords (long tail keywords) it will not help much.
  • Keyword Discovery Tool - This free keyword tool pulls information from 100 search engines. It offers web-wide statistics, related keyword searches, and a graph that shows seasonal trends.
Paid Keyword Suggestion Tools
  • Micro Niche Finder - This tool is the one that I use on a constant basis, and have found that it works better than any I have found for the money.  The reason that I like this tool is because it makes the keyword and niche market research process as easy as it gets.  This tool will tell you how many searches in Google the keyword has per month, the exact keyword phrase search count, How much people are paying in Google Adwords for the term (Great info for Adsense sites), and strength of competition, which is the best part of the program.  Micro Niche Finder will give you a red light if you should not bother using that keyword, a yellow light for the people who are more advanced in Search Engine Optimizations, or a green light, which will be easy pickings to get on the first page in Google for that term.  In my honest opinion, this tool is the must have keyword research tool.
  • Wordtracker Paid Subscription -  This tool is the King of the keyword research tools, although it commands a Kings price of $59 a month or $329 for a years subscription.  This will not be a problem for you in a years time, but for now I highly recommend Micro Niche Finder.
I am going to stop with those two paid keyword research tools, because I feel that there’s none that gets better than those two.
Ok in our next post we will start the actual keyword research process, and I will be using Micro Niche Finder to find some juicy keywords for Bratz Dolls.  Now get off this Blog and start researching.
